About Bang Tao

Bang Tao Bang Tao as well as being Phuket's most perfect beach, is still an actual working fishing village and a hive of activity during the early hours of the morning as the boats go out and bring back the catch directly to the beach every morning. There is a small inlet at the bottom of our road where the boats tie up, get repaired, acquire a new coat of paint or get prepared for the next trip out. Many colourful characters populate the area who have been plying their trade for generations. It's development as a tourist hub has been carefully managed and the area is strictly aimed at the high-end market. Our neighbours 'The Chedi' and 'The Amanpuri' took the first steps on this route over 20 years ago. Both became THE place to be for countless actors, pop stars and celebrities, from Mick Jagger and Madonna to Johnny Depp and Robbie Williams, all of them have been regular visitors to the area. There are countless more but both places guard their guest lists very carefully. There are a few dozen restaurants to choose from in the area representing the very best Thai and Western food, most of them a family affair and utterly charming.
